A
2.5 hectare garden,established in 1980. This
used to be a nursery, so there are some well
grown trees to design gardens around. There are
sloping areas with steps and paths for easy walking
for all ages.

Various tree / shrub group collections
are dotted throughout, including New Zealand
natives, azaleas, conifers, camellias, hibiscus,
magnolias and vireya rhododendrons.

Also within the gardens is a large Monarch butterfly
house which started as a conservation project,
and has become an educational trip for all ages,
especially school groups.The complete life cycle
of the Monarch can be viewed in the house from
October to April.
- The gardens can
be hired for weddings, birthdays and photographs.
- Bus tours welcome,
tea by arrangement.
- The gardens are
open to the public 10am to 4pm daily.
- Both
gardens and Butterfly house are wheelchair
/ child stroller friendly.
- All are welcome
to bring a picnic and / or play Petanque on
the shell path.
